The Huygens Project
Gold
The Huygens project is a 712 hectare area in the Northwest Territories that was acquired by Voyageur Exploration in 2023. The site is located 70 kilometers east from the capital city of Yellowknife, along the end of the paved Ingraham Trail highway. Ground access to this project can be performed year-round by vehicle and on-foot.
The known commodities on the project include gold, copper, and silver. Also being investigated are pegmatites containing lithium, niobium, and tantalum. The main features on the Huygens property include five different gold-silver-copper showings: Tibbitt Lake South; Ton South; Tibbitt Lake SW; Tin 20 Copper; and, Lizzy.
Historical prospecting reports suggest that several quartz vein systems containing varying amounts of gold, silver, and copper, are related to felsic dykes with strike lengths up to several hundred meters. Previous exploration on these showings include numerous trenches and 7/8-inch (22 mm) drill holes, with assay results that show impressive and seemingly consistent grades of gold along these veins.
More recently, the area surrounding Huygens has seen spurred interest in exploration for lithium in pegmatites and felsic rocks, where examples of such features have been identified. The historically identified presence of felsic granitic dykes on the Huygens project is therefore intriguing and demands further investigation. With no previous exploration for lithium-niobium-tantalum pegmatites on Huygens, Voyageur Exploration is making efforts this summer explore for any such occurrences.
Early exploration of the Tibbitt Lake area returned gold grades of 6 g/t to 93 g/t and silver grades of 2 g/t to 309 g/t. In 1998, explorers identified the historical showings and discovered new showings. These showings produced gold grades up to 36 g/t and silver grades up to 7 g/t silver. The following year, the prospectors performed geological mapping, Very-Low-Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) surveys, and magnetometer surveys. Gold-bearing quartz veins, which trend along the baseline, were found to produce a weakly positive magnetic anomaly. Various other positive anomalies were identified and corresponded to features, including: a diabase dyke, a weak gossan with quartz veining, and bull quartz veins with minor pyrrhotite and pyrite.
The primary exploration focus by Voyageur in 2023 is to characterize the spatial extent of felsic intrusive rocks, gold systems, and vein networks, as well as identify and map the location of trenches and look for evidence of historical drilling and document any findings. Newly collected hand samples are undergoing geochemical assay and Quantitative Evaluation of Minerals by Scanning Electron Microscopy (QEMSCAN) analysis. The mineralogy of felsic dykes on the property will be examined; the concentration of gold in the quartz veins will be measured; and, the lithological properties of the rocks hosting Li-Nb-Ta and/or Au-Ag-Cu mineralization will be characterized.
We are seeking financial partners to advance the Huygens project
This project is ready for further prospecting next summer. Investors are invited to submit a request to access the Data Room, which contains all necessary information to perform due-diligence prior to participation.
